Nicholas St Jon – Washoe Patriots meeting next Monday evening, Aug 14, 6;30pm, 5295 Sun Valley Blvd. This is a group that focuses on prepping for whatever disaster the future could hold, including food supplies, surviving on seeds and sprouts and many other ingenius ways to thrive in a bad situation.
Roger Edwards – Republican Men’s Club (RMC) is meeting next Tuesday, Aug 15, 11:00am doors open, King Buffet. Speaker: Congressman Mark Amodei. $21 for full buffet, beverage, tax and tip.
Craig Newton – There will be a car parade to urge the end of human trafficking on Saturday, Aug 19, 12noon, meeting at Meadowood Mall, near the old Sears store (behind Round 1). This flag parade is in coordination with Wake Up Washoe County and Operation Underground Railroad (OUR). Get your signs and flags made and your vehicles decorated at the GOP office the prior Sat, Aug 12 at 12 noon.
Mark Pingle – President of The Hayek Group. On Thur, Sept 7, Hayek is bringing Heather McDonald to The Club at Arrowcreek. Her new book, The Diversity Delusion” is about diversity, equity and inclusion and how that concept and training have undermined our culture. The US is not a racist country. The few incidents of racism are closer to a “skills” gap than anything else. $45 for a dinner meeting. https://www.thehayekgroup.org/event-when-race-trumps-merit-how-the-pursuit-of-equity-sacrifices-excellence-destroys-beauty-and-threatens-lives-september-7-2023/ Make a reservation early, as it will likely sell out.

Census Mail & Calls – BE AWARE!!! – If you receive a piece of mail or a phone call from the US Census office, ignore it. The real US census is done every 10 years at the top of the decade (2010, 2020, 2030, etc). This is likely not the government, but a private group collecting data, because they want a lot of personal info (income, retired or not, job, COVID shot or not).
Bill Conrad – Candidate for US Senate 2024. He knows politics and consultants for candidates and how dirty the game is. He ran for Congress in CA, won the Primary and was trained by Newt Gingrich. Consultants will destroy a candidate, taking 85% of most candidates’ fundraising. He will have mailers and will raise $100,000-200,000, will be outspent by all the others, but he can win.
A West Point graduate, he was a Team leader in Human Terrain and he was with Special Forces. He saw the inside of Benghazi. He was a Lt Col in Benghazi when Christopher Stevens was murdered. He talks to retired CIA guys twice weekly and has many connections. After 38 months in Afghanistan, he knows what’s going on.
Bill has 4 kids and doesn’t want us to go to war. We should not be funding the Ukraine. US needs to focus on China, not Ukraine. By the way, his son sued the Secretary of Defense regarding the mandatory COVID so-called vaccine.
Bill is still concerned about China. The Chinese lab is right by the CA Canal and Lamoore Labs. China is not doing well financially. There were mandatory birthing rules, where only 1 child per family was allowed and most people opted to abort girls so sons could carry on the family name. This means there are many men and not a lot of women. That has now been changed, but they must go to war, in part to reduce the number of men and balance it more with the number of women.
Sam Brown is the establishment candidate for US Senate and endorsed by Lindsey Graham.
Janet Butcher – Washoe County Audit Committee Report on Aug 1. Jeanne Herman did not schedule this meeting, but the special meeting was called by City Mgr Eric Brown and CC Chair Alexis Hill. Public comment (agenda item 3), it was brought out that this practice was illegal. SEE ATTACHED AUDIT REPORT.
School Board Report – A whole bunch of new Principals were announced and introduced. They will spend $5M to hire people to manage the preliminary stuff that must be done prior to replacing a middle school, which will cost $160M. They cannot seem to address the “elephant in the room” (i.e. how many students are NOT attending WCSD). Starting in September, they will have an item on the agenda for quality of education.
There is a lot of chatter on Facebook pages from teachers who are talking about a sick-out because they need teachers for ESL (English as a Second Language) badly and WCSD seems to refuse to post the jobs. They cannot/will not hire teachers without a posting.
Drag Queen Story Hour/Library Board Report – Roger has purchased a dozen red, white & blue flag umbrellas for the next DQSH event, as the opposition keeps twirling their rainbow umbrellas at those who show up to protest.
Nicholas St Jon – Big news is that today Nicholas delivered a 290-page report (2nd of these types of reports) to the Washoe County Grand Jury. Two major cases: Challenging Clara Andriola’s bond, which she has failed to acquire within 30 days, as NRS requires. As of May 12, she did not have a bond. There is no grace period and she should be forced out of office. She is still sitting in that Commissioner’s seat and is being charged with impersonating a County Commissioner, as she is not really a sitting Commissioner.
Second major case (290 pages) delivered today: County Commissioner Alexis Hill, for violating 1st amendment rights of citizens. Nicholas included a chip of 4-5 meetings where Hill ordered the audience to stop clapping or they would be removed. Also, for stopping Public Comment at the outset of the Commission meetings.
Grand Jury has the power to nullify law and is the people’s jury, not under the auspices of the courts, judges or the Commission.
Tracey Thomas – Election Citizen Advisory Board (ECAB) is on the County Commission agenda for Aug 15, 10:00am, Tuesday. Please try to show up.
Request to review the 17-page response from the DA’s office on the sanctions against Beadles by RGJ, for a damning article written in the paper
VP of Washoe GOP. Misinformation going on about the activities of the Washoe GOP. There was a Resolution being circulated by 2 people not members of the CC. WashoeGOP.org, go to PURPOSE -> Bylaws, there is a procedure to go through this process, which did not go through the proper channels for a Resolution: approval by the Resolution Comm, approval by the Executive Board, then to the full CC to be approved. This was a Resolution that got destroyed to have Commissioner Andriola censured. A clean Resolution to the body is to be presented after going through channels. Traceyforwashoe.com has the Resolutions
Donald Fossum – There will be so many candidates for US Senate that they will dilute the campaigns. Instead of old re-treads running and re-running, consider a brand new face who has never run before – Stephanie Phillips.
Next Meeting – Wednesday, August 23, 2023, same time, same place. Carole will be out of town, but Nicôl Herris will be running the meeting.
