Discussion

CTL News – Top stories from unusual or foreign sources in a Power Point presentation. Carole wants to do this monthly.

The Election isn’t what we hoped for, but it isn’t over yet. Some wisdom from Dan Bongino: In 1989, New York City (NYC) was a crime-ridden mess and had been for a few years. Something like 2000 people were murdered each year from gunshots, stabbings, rapes and strangling on the streets of NYC. Rudy Giuliani ran for Mayor on the promise to clean it up. He ran hard and ran a good race, but lost by 3 points to Dem incumbent David Dinkins. Four years later, Giuliani ran again and won by 17 points. Apparently it just wasn’t bad enough in 1989, but by 1993, people were sick enough of it that they came out in droves. Last night showed us it just isn’t bad enough yet. People are numbed by indoctrination. As hard as it is to think about, it is going to get worse (and it must) to have people get really angry enough to vote the right way.

https://bongino.com/ep-1891-the-most-important-election-night-lessons

The entire podcast is very good, but the part about the Giuliani story comes around 26:39 (26 min, 39 seconds).

Nicol Herris – FAIR – (Federation of American Immigration Reform) Republican Women of Reno (RWR) & Sparks Republican Women (SRW) have a joint program with the national FAIR group coming to speak about the effects of illegal immigration, specifically drugs. Nevada is particularly affected, more than most other states.

Republican Women of Reno (RWR) –  is starting a Faith-based Brigade.

We must start looking for candidates for 2024 NOW. We did not bring out the Republican base yesterday. One-third of the public is non-partisan. Where do they live? How do they vote? We must do better research. We must look at this as a business. We are much better organized than we were 2 years ago and we need to be even better at doing what we need to do in 2024.

The media is the problem as well. We should file a lawsuit against the lies. Nevada Globe, Picon Press are good media sources. (Find links at the end of this Summary).

Jim Galloway – US Justice Foundation and Western States Justice and Pacific Justice Institute are 501c3 non-profit legal organizations that can help us with lawsuits.

NY Governor can initiate a recall of the Manhattan DA Bragg. But the Republican candidate, Lee Zeldin, did not win, so likely that recall will not happen.

Mike Clark – Mike tried to meet with taxpayers of Lemmon Valley about issues in their neighborhood. The County usually allows a meeting in the Commission’s chambers, but once they heard Clark was involved, they denied it as a “political meeting.” He finally met with the taxpayers in his Assessor’s office.

The sewage treatment plants in Lemmon Valley are over-capacity. Every day the stench in that area is horrific. In hot weather, the liquid sewage dries up and leaves the solids to rot. Property values will be reduced by about 20% because of the external influence that affects the properties. The City of Reno needs to fix the treatment plants.

If the election goes his way (still counting), Mike will look at everything that has taken place for the last 8 years. He is their worst nightmare.

Roger Edwards – was on Planning Commission for 8 years. The Planning Comm will look at a plan on a flood plain, on top of a dormant volcano and deny it. Then County Comm approves it and it gets built.

Ron Miranda – Vice Chairman of Field Ops for the County Party. Vote Red flyer. Rank Choice voting. They walked the streets, knocking doors. Candidates walked with them, 5 Saturdays for 2.5 hrs each Saturday. They urged them to vote, carried the Vote Red flyer and they worked their tails off. They had 10-12 people show up each Saturday and if they’d had more, they would have been able to cover more houses. They put literature in packets, with the Vote Red flyer, RWR literature and Battle Born Moms.

Lynn Chapman – Nevada Families for Freedom, member of the American Independent Party (AIP). She gets literature from the left, the right and the non-partisans. Janine Hansen’s (AIP candidate for Sec’y of State) flyer came to Lynn. A flyer that Janine did not print, mail or pay for. The name of the people who put it out was the Leadership Nevada PAC. When Lynn researched it, she learned money is raised by this group and they give to other groups and send to Planned Parenthood and other leftist organizations. This flyer for Janine was put out by this leftist group, who probably wanted to split the vote for Marchant for Sec’y of State.

Bruce Foster – NICE (NV Interfaith Coalition for Equality & Inclusion), coalition of churches accepting the LGBTQ agenda. Watch out for them.

Jeff Church – The Bernie Sanders group arranged for use of Reno HS for a “private event”. The School Board was assured it was on the up and up, but he feels he was lied to. A 3-week application is supposed to precede the event, but it was submitted Oct 24 and approved the same day. The security deposit was waived and the two police security guards were never paid. One violation and mishandling after another….
